About A Wing and a Bear
A Wing and a Bear is a natural dyeworks, wool shop and craft workshop space at Studio 5, Fowler's Yard, off Back Silver Street in central Durham. It focuses on natural fibres with an emphasis on British and locally produced wool, offering naturally dyed and undyed yarn in a range of weights, spinning fibres, patterns, needles, hooks and kits, alongside its own dyed ranges.
As well as selling yarn and supplies, the studio runs craft courses and workshops for spinners, knitters and crocheters. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, typically from 10.30am to 5pm, and stock can also be bought through the online shop. The business maintains a Facebook page for updates on ranges and workshops.
