North End Allotments
Parish-owned allotment site on a south-facing slope above Flass Vale, owned by the City of Durham Parish Council and run with the North End Allotment Association.
About North End Allotments
North End Allotments sits on a south-facing slope on Larches Road overlooking the Flass Vale local nature reserve on the west side of Durham city. Ownership passed from Durham County Council to the City of Durham Parish Council, and the North End Allotment Association handles much of the day-to-day running. Plot holders grow a wide mix of fruit, vegetables and flowers.
Because the site is parish-owned, enquiries about plots go to the City of Durham Parish Council rather than the county council waiting list. The site has opened to visitors for Heritage Open Days with refreshments and homemade produce.
