Well-stocked charity shop on Claypath raising funds for the local St Cuthbert's Hospice, known for quality and designer finds.
About St Cuthbert's Hospice Shop
The St Cuthbert's Hospice shop on Claypath is one of the best-loved charity shops in the city, raising money for the local hospice that has cared for people across Durham since 1988. Just up from the Market Place, it has earned a reputation as the 'Selfridges of the North East' for the quality of its stock, with designer clothing, footwear, jewellery and accessories on the rails alongside homeware, china, books and children's toys and games. Prices are keen and the turnover of donated goods is brisk, so it rewards regular browsing.
Every purchase supports the hospice's care for local families, which makes it a feel-good place to shop as well as a good-value one, and donations of quality items are always welcome. It is one of several St Cuthbert's Hospice shops across the county. As with all charity shops, opening hours can vary, so it is worth checking before a special trip.
