About This Event
Led by James Common, Senior Naturalist at the Natural History Society of Northumbria, this informal walk for beginners and enthusiasts searches Big Waters for waxcaps, the colourful fungi that indicate healthy, unimproved grassland. Participants learn to identify and record their finds for the society's North East Waxcaps project, part of its Gosforth's Wild Web work. Meet at the Big Waters main car park (what3words: burst.loses.remission). Bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear. Booking is via Eventbrite.
