About This Event

Part of the Natural History Society of Northumbria's Lifelong Learning programme, this session introduces the identification of waxcap fungi and the other species found in waxcap grasslands, and explains how these habitats are assessed for their conservation value. It is led by Sally Pattinson of the North East Fungus Study Group, who has studied fungi for around ten years. The course supports NHSN's North East Waxcaps citizen science project, so participants learn how to submit their own sightings afterwards. It suits beginners and experienced enthusiasts alike. Meet in the council car park for the reserve, just past Brunswick Village, and bring sturdy boots. Tickets are £12.50 for NHSN members and £15 for non-members, booked through Eventbrite.
