About This Event

Led by Natural History Society of Northumbria senior naturalist James Common, this informal walk searches the grassland at Havannah Nature Reserve for waxcaps, the small, brightly coloured fungi that indicate healthy, undisturbed grassland. Finds are recorded for NHSN's North East Waxcaps project, and sightings can be shared on iRecord. The walk is part of the Gosforth's Wild Web project and is suitable for beginners and enthusiasts. Meet at the east car park (what3words: defeat.powder.type), and bring weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear and, if you like, snacks or a warm drink. Tickets are £5 through Eventbrite.
