Best known as the resident word expert in Countdown's Dictionary Corner and co-host of the podcast Something Rhymes with Purple, Susie Dent presents Word Perfect, a warm and witty tour through the English language. Expect surprising origins, forgotten words worth reviving and plenty of examples of how everyday phrases came to be, delivered with the easy expertise that has made her a national favourite. The afternoon matinee at Gala Durham suits anyone who enjoys language, quizzing or a good story well told. It runs at the theatre on Millennium Place in the city centre, a short walk from Durham's shops and riverside.
