Time by Luxmuralis at Durham Cathedral
An immersive light and sound experience fills Durham Cathedral, taking visitors on a journey through history, science and imagination inspired by The Time Machine.
About This Event
Art collective Luxmuralis returns to Durham Cathedral with Time, a large-scale light and sound installation projected across the building's walls, columns and vaulted ceilings. Inspired by H.G. Wells' The Time Machine, the experience carries audiences through wormholes and across eras, exploring humanity, history and imagination in a soundtracked walk through the darkened cathedral. The run is Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 October 2026. Entry is by timed ticket and advance booking is essential, as slots sell out. Standard admission is around £11 for adults and £5 for children, with free entry for infants under three; reduced late-slot tickets are available on some evenings. It is a memorable, family-friendly way to see one of England's finest cathedrals.
