1st Framwellgate Moor Scout Group
Long-established Scout group serving Framwellgate Moor and the north of Durham from its own scout hut, running Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections for local children and young people.
About 1st Framwellgate Moor Scout Group
1st Framwellgate Moor Scout Group is part of Durham City Scouts and meets at its own scout hut on Newcastle Terrace in Framwellgate Moor, just north of Durham city. The group offers the full range of younger Scouting sections, from Squirrels and Beavers for the youngest children up through Cubs and Scouts, giving young people a weekly programme of games, crafts, outdoor activities, badge work and the chance to try things they would not usually do at home.
Like all Scout groups it is run by volunteers and reinvests everything into activities for its members, keeping subscriptions affordable and offering help with costs where needed. Popular sections often have waiting lists, so families are encouraged to register early through the group's website or the national Scouts join page. The group also welcomes adult volunteers, which is frequently what decides whether a section can take on more children.
