Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, dresses its historic streets, homes and farm for Christmas across daytime opening hours, with festive scenes set in the 1900s, 1940s and 1950s.
About This Event
Christmas Daytimes is Beamish Museum's daytime festive programme, running daily from 21 November to 24 December 2026 between 10am and 4pm. Visitors explore festive scenes set across the museum's historic periods, from a miners' Christmas in the 1900s Pit Village to a wartime Christmas at the 1940s Farm and a nostalgic 1950s Town, all decorated for the season. The daytime offer is included in standard museum admission and is free to Beamish Unlimited Pass holders and Friends of Beamish members. Optional bookable extras include a Father Christmas Grotto at £10 per child, which includes a small traditional gift. Standard day admission is £35 for adults, £26 for seniors and students, £20.50 for children aged 5 to 16, and £85.50 for a family of four, with under-5s free. Tickets and grotto sessions can be booked online in advance.
