Rapunzel - Gala Durham Pantomime
Gala Durham's big family pantomime for 2026 is Rapunzel, a hair-raising festive adventure set in Hamsterley Forest and running throughout December.
About This Event
Gala Durham's annual pantomime is a highlight of the city's festive calendar, and for 2026 the theatre presents Rapunzel. The production spins the classic fairytale into a local adventure, with a mysterious tower hidden deep in Hamsterley Forest and the heroine setting out to discover her true identity, all wrapped up with the songs, slapstick and sparkle audiences expect from a Gala panto. The pantomime runs from 19 November through to 31 December 2026, with performances on most days across the festive period at a range of times to suit families. Accessible performances are part of the run, including a British Sign Language interpreted show, captioned and audio described performances, and relaxed performances designed for audiences who prefer a less restrictive environment. Tickets start from £10, with a family discount of 15 per cent available on bookings of four or more tickets including at least one under 16. Dates and times vary across the run, so booking ahead through the Gala Durham box office is recommended.
