Biedronka

Polish-British tasting-menu restaurant in the farmhouse at South Causey Inn near Stanley, from former Restaurant Hjem head chef Marek Dziedzic.

About Biedronka

Biedronka is the first restaurant of chef Marek Dziedzic, previously head chef at the Michelin-starred Restaurant Hjem in Wall, Northumberland. Opening on 1 October 2026 in the farmhouse at South Causey Inn near Stanley, it pairs seasonal British produce with the flavours and traditions of Dziedzic's native Poland. The name means 'ladybird' in Polish, and handmade Polish dumplings sit at the heart of a menu divided into snacks, starters, dumplings, seafood, meat and desserts.

Guests build a four, five or six-course meal, with a seven-course chef's selection also available. Dinner runs Wednesday to Saturday, with lunch added on Saturdays and Sundays. Set in the hundred-acre grounds of South Causey Inn to the north of Durham, with ample parking, it gives the region a genuine special-occasion dining room a short drive from Durham city, Chester-le-Street and Stanley.
