About Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation
The Durham Cathedral Schools Foundation runs a well-regarded holiday sports camp for children aged 8 to 12, held at Durham School on Quarryheads Lane and the Chorister School near the cathedral. The programme covers traditional sports including rugby, cricket, football, tennis and hockey, with daily swimming, and days run from a morning drop-off through to late afternoon with a hot lunch included.
Coaching draws on established coaches and partnerships with organisations such as the Foundation of Light and regional rugby coaches, giving children high-quality instruction across a busy week. The cost can be offset using Tax-Free Childcare accounts, and the summer programme typically runs across several weeks of the school holidays, making it a strong choice for keen young all-rounders.
