Maple Patisserie
Family-run patisserie and coffee shop at The Riverwalk, making cakes, tarts and pastries with locally sourced ingredients.
About Maple Patisserie
Maple Patisserie is a family-run patisserie and coffee shop within The Riverwalk development beside the River Wear, on the western edge of the city centre. It specialises in handmade cakes, tarts and pastries produced using locally sourced ingredients, alongside coffee, toasties and light bites, and also takes orders for bespoke celebration cakes.
The cafe has built a reputation for its patisserie work, with items such as tarte au citron and cheesecakes among those that draw regular praise. The setting is relaxed and dog-friendly, and its position at The Riverwalk gives easy access from Framwellgate and North Road. As a small independent operation, it combines a working bakery counter with a place to sit in for coffee and cake close to the river.
