Bertie's Play Village
City-centre stay-and-play soft play for children aged 0 to 8, in the Prince Bishops Place shopping centre with a sensory baby zone.
About Bertie's Play Village
Bertie's Play Village is an indoor soft play centre right in the heart of Durham, tucked inside the Prince Bishops Place shopping centre a couple of minutes from the market place. It is aimed at children from babies up to around eight years old, with a soft play frame for older toddlers and a separate sensory-focused baby zone so the youngest visitors can join in safely. Its central location makes it an easy stop to break up a day's shopping or sightseeing, especially when the weather turns.
It runs as a straightforward stay-and-play with no need to book, charging by the half-hour or hour with accompanying adults going free, which makes it a low-cost rainy-day option for local families. There is space for parents and carers to sit nearby, and being inside the centre it is handy for cafes and facilities. As with any soft play, it is worth checking the current opening times and prices before setting off.
