Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre
Durham's main public leisure centre near the riverside, with swimming pools, a gym, sports hall, dance studio and exercise classes.
About Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre
Freeman's Quay is the city centre's principal public leisure centre, a short walk from the market place beside the River Wear at Walkergate. It offers a swimming pool for both lane swimming and family sessions, a well-equipped fitness suite, a sports hall and studios running a full timetable of exercise and wellbeing classes.
As a community facility it caters for all ages and abilities, from learn-to-swim lessons and junior activities through to adult classes and casual gym use, on pay-as-you-go or membership terms. Its central position makes it one of the most accessible places in Durham to swim, train or take part in organised sport, and it is a well-used part of everyday life for residents across the city.
