The Bishops' Mill

A Wetherspoon pub on Walkergate near the Gala Theatre, built on the site of the medieval mill of the bishops of Durham and taking part in the chain's spring and autumn real-ale festivals.

About The Bishops' Mill

The Bishops' Mill is a J D Wetherspoon pub on Walkergate in Durham city centre, close to the Gala Theatre and the riverside. Its name recalls the medieval mill that once stood on the site and served the bishops of Durham.

The pub serves food all day alongside a range of cask ales, and takes part in Wetherspoon's twice-yearly real-ale festivals in spring and autumn, when guest beers from around the UK and abroad join the bar, usually with third-pint tasters.
